Montour Football and Montour Wrestling are coming together to help a dedicated player in need. David Long is an 8th Grader at DEW and actively involved in Football and Wrestling at Montour and wrestling at Gladiators. David was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. We are reaching out because we are seeking donations that will help cover expenses (Mortgage, Utilities. Groceries, Gas, Bills etc.) while David and Crystal are off work. Donations will be used to cover these costs and ensure David, and his Family receive the necessary care. We are Montour Strong, and we are asking our community for your support. Every little bit helps, and we are incredibly grateful for any contribution you can make. We will continue to update as we are made aware. Montour Football and Wrestling Boosters David’s Story On May 29th at 3:30am Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh found a tumor on David’s femur, right above his knee. After two weeks of testing, the tumor was found to be cancerous in the form of Osteosarcoma. The team of doctors at Children’s Hospital are wonderful and are fighting this tumor the way David wrestles with urgency and aggressiveness. Before removing the tumor, David will undergo 10 weeks of chemotherapy, and afterwards he will endure another 18 weeks. He will have 3-4 weeks to recover from the surgery before starting the back half of his chemotherapy treatment. During our initial visits with the Oncology team, we discovered that we will be in the hospital for longer periods of time than we thought, which is good because we want him to be surrounded by doctors and nurses in case they need called upon. The schedule for the treatment is basically 3 weeks in the hospital and then 2 weeks to come home and recover before doing it all again. God willing his treatment will be finished by February 1st, 2026. We want to thank everyone for their love and support and what you to know that David is committed to this fight and he is in good spirits and is determined to come out of this stronger than he went in.
